Designed in London, hand crafted in Zurich, Arborobots are the result of a colaboration by Cris Rose and Pepe – solid wooden bots that are happy to help.
Made from Walnut, Maple and Brass, these chaps are very limited.
Ramble is the larger character, a robot grown from wood that feels he is missing something in his big hollow tummy. Coming in single and two-eyed variants, he has thoughts on what he might desire and looks to seek them out. Roam is the smaller chap, keen to help out and particularly good at finding lost things. With one big brass eye, he holds his find aloft and shuffles along as quickly as he can manage.
The initial release of this pair will include Roam and two-eyed Ramble in Walnut and Maple. There will be 3x 2 packs that include both figures and a camera accessory, as well as 2 Roam and 2 Ramble figures sold individually. Finally, there is a single painted Ramble, crafted by Pepe and painted by Cris Rose as well as some framed original Polaroids of the pair.
Released July 7th.

After the first wacky try to make a branding tool (HERE), i made me another tiny brass branding iron stamp for my wooden toys.
This time instead of using a common font, i did vectorize my signature and let the CNC mill do the work with a our smallest 0.3mm drill. Afterwards i made a brass mount with M2 screws for holding the stamp plate in position. The signature is approx 15mm long and i still have to get a feeling about long i have to press, till the signature is proper burned into the wood. But i’m pretty happy with my new tool and it works very good while clamped into a soldering iron.
Now all my new wooden stuff will get some hot mark on their butts for sure!

I’m a huge fan of brass, it’s really easy to work with it and it’s perfect for my next small experiment: branding my wooden toy hordes!
I used the CNC milling cutter to get me some small brass stamps with my name engraved (first attempt was a miss, because i forgot to mirror inverted the letters…urgh
). With a soldering iron and some patience with the sightly goatish PEARBLOCK guys, i got the result I’m looking for!
Check also the pictures with the new fellow, i call him the PEAR DEER. I gave him a nice and shiny semi gloss finish, hope you like him…
